Nine,Seven and Five is a minimalist composition for piano, vibraphone, marimba, double bass,
percussion, synthesizer drones and improvised soprano saxophone.
The meter is 14/8 divided 2,2,3,2,2,3.
The compositions name relates to a primary accent note on the ninth, eighth note beat, of every other measure
in the opening and closing sections of the piece. Note groups of five notes and seven notes appear throughout and
rhythmic interactions occur between them.
Nine, Seven and Five is the second composition in a series exploring imperfect meters that I call "Numbers".
